Asia is also a world leader in terms of population and economic growth. This poses significant challenges for the sustainable development of the region, and the quality of food production and supply is a particularly important area in terms of quality of life.
Although the higher growth rate of rising incomes, the strengthening of the middle class has led to significant changes, hunger, malnutrition, poverty are underlying problems and are significantly linked to the agri-food economy. The share of the sector is also high in terms of GDP and employment the quality of the food supply chain, from production to consumption and integration into global supply chains, also has an impact on global processes.

The Asian Food Markets Research Group aims to bring together researchers with an interest in research on the topic to explore the challenges of sustainable development and digitalization and seek scientific responses at the level of individual countries or regions.
With networking within and beyond the group, we aim to increase the efficiency of our research activities and significantly increase our publishing activity and explore additional resource opportunities. It is a special pleasure that the number of Asian PhD students in the research group is already significant. They mostly work together with their supervisors on issues related to their own country or region, but they will play a big role in helping us to identify the research gap, the key research issues.

Our goal is to contact not only our students but also universities, lecturers and researchers from the region. This can help us in finding joint application possibility for financing of researches and publications.

We welcome lecturers, researchers, PhD and MSc students interested in the work of the research group, trusting that we can achieve better results together!
